Inspiration: Dreaming about my younger self, Self-reflection, remembering/reliving your past.

Process: I had an former idea that was completely scrapped.

I started with the pizzicato strings because that sounded like the playfulness of a kid showing an adult something they like.

I chose to represent the little girl as the lead chime because this picture makes me think that story is her leading.

Right after that, I created the sustained string part. I wanted it to be dramatic and full almost like a movie picture soundtrack beacuse it has that sense of wonder and excitement that one can feel during that. The vague story that I tried to create with the music here is capturing the sense of discovery, into discovering something wonderful, then processing what to do with it.

I love the return to playfullness because it now gives context to the how the new discovery affects the person, which is almost like returning to childhood.

After that, I filled in the spaces with orchestral percussion such as snare, bass drum, string-mallet cymbal rolls, a low gong-sounding cymbal, a triangle, and of course the vibraslap for the extra playfulness.

At this point, I was about 2:24 done, but I still needed to find something to make the 3 minute mark.

I realised that my former idea aforementioned did have something that I thought of then I could use now: popping sound effects for the bubbles in the picture.

With these bubble popping sounds, I thought an ambient sound that can lead into the playfulness would work really well because then the story has a start of "Woah, where am I?"

After that, it was just finishing touches: ensuring percussion lined up well at the right moments, none of the chords sounded *too* funky, and that the story still carried through; although I feel that I may not have achieved the last one as well as the others.
